Cain and Firley was started by Jerry Cain and Sirkka Firley. Jerry Cain, the founder, had been in public accounting since 1980, and was managing director of the firm, until he passed away in May of 2011. His experience included extensive representation before the Internal Revenue Service and testifying as an expert witness. He was a great asset to the company and will be missed dearly.

Now the firm is owned and operated by Sirkka and Sinikka Firley. The mother daughter team have been working together at the firm for over 17 years. If you are looking for experience and a family atmosphere, you've come to the right place!

SIRKKA S. FIRLEY, CPA

Sirkka was born and raised in Helsinki, Finland. After graduating from business school, she was hired as the administrative assistant to the press attaché in the United States Embassy in Helsinki. It was here that she met her husband Carl Firley, who was in Helsinki completing an assignment through a Fulbright teaching grant. Together they returned to Champaign, Illinois where in 1966 they got married. With their new daughter, Sinikka, they moved to Marquette, Michigan in 1969, where son Carl Henry was born. After Sirkka graduated with honors from Northern Michigan University the family relocated to Stuart, Florida in 1981 where Sirkka started her career in public accounting.

She obtained extensive experience and training in accounting and taxation working in the construction industry with building contractors. Sirkka's current emphasis is tax planning and preparation for individuals, corporations, trust and estates. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Florida, and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She enjoys traveling with her family and playing golf.

SINIKKA S. FIRLEY B.S.A.

Sinikka was born in Champaign, IL and moved with her parents to Stuart, FL in 1981. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, with an accounting Major in 1990 from The Florida Institute of Technology (now known as Florida Tech). She started her accounting career as a Senior Accountant for the Jupiter Medical Center, and then the Jupiter Eye Surgery Center.

In 1994 Sinikka joined Cain & Firley PA CPA's, as Tax Manager and then in July of 2012 she passed the IRS Registered Tax Return Preparer exam.

Sinikka is married to Gary Goldberg, and together they have a son named Viktor who was born in October of 2010, and a step-son named Anthony. She loves to play tennis, piano, and enjoys traveling with her family.
